A Loopback mixin using in some IBM research apps
npm install loopback-ibmresearch-mixin
![npm]()
![dependencies]()
![devDependencies]()
![Build Status]()
Some mixins used in IBM research apps that use Loopback. This module is designed for the Strongloop Loopback framework.
* _PostMethod_: It automatically adds a remote method for update an instance of any model through a POST /MyModel/.
* _ModelCache_: Create a cache for find methods in model (memory or redis).
* _SpamControl_: Create a basic spam control for intances creation.
* _Timestamp_: Add timestamp properties for models and set automatically.
You can put me in your package.json dependencies. The npm tool can do this for you, from the command line:
$ npm install --save loopback-ibmresearch-mixin
#### _Postmethod_ mixin
It automatically adds a remote method for update an instance of any model through a POST /MyModel/.
* assignProperties If true, it will assign instance properties instead of merging.
#### _ModelCache_ mixin
Create a cache for find methods in model (memory or redis).
* ttl: Time to live of the cache in seconds (default 30).
* reloadAfterReturn: After return from cache (the DB method will be fired and reload cache. default: true).
* invalidateCacheAfterSave: If true, the cache will be invalidated after save any instance of the model.
* invalidateCacheAfterDelete: If true, the cache will be invalidated after delete any instance of the model.
* disableDefault: Disable cache in find method (default false)
* methods: Array of remote methods that will be cached too.
* type: Backend type ('memory' or 'redis'). Default value is 'memory'.
* configuration: Configuration of the backend.
#### _SpamControl_ mixin
Add a simple spam control for multiple creations of instances. This mixin disable instance creation of a model (and user) for a specified time after create one.
* ttl: Time to wait to create a new instance in seconds (default 30).
* unique: Only access to this model will be checked (default true).
* errorCode: ErrorCode to generate if spam detected (next({code: errorCode})).
* type: Backend type ('memory' or 'redis'). Default value is 'memory'.
* configuration: Configuration of the backend.
#### _Timestamp_ mixin
* createdAt: Name of the property for createdAt attribute (default: 'createdAt').
* modifiedAt: Name of the property for attribute (default: 'modifiedAt').
* required: Indicates if the previous attributes are required for the model (default: false).
* history: (WIP - Work In Progress) If true indicates that the modifiedAt attribute is a object with an history of modifications with time and user (anonymous or _userId_) that made the change:
{
...
"modifiedAt": {
"1478000538364": "anonymous",
"1478000231241": "anonymous",
"1478000198352": "1"
},
...
}
If history is set to false:
{
...
"createdAt": "2016-11-01T10:02:34.794Z",
"modifiedAt": "2016-11-01T10:20:34.794Z",
...
}
Add the mixins property to your server/model-config.json:
``json`
{
"_meta": {
"sources": [
"loopback/common/models",
"loopback/server/models",
"../common/models",
"./models"
],
"mixins": [
"loopback/common/mixins",
"../node_modules/loopback-ibmresearch-mixin/lib",
"../common/mixins"
]
}
}
To use with your Models add the mixins attribute to the definition object of your model config.
`json`
{
"name": "MyModel",
"properties": {
"name": {
"type": "string",
}
},
"mixins": {
"PostMethod": {
"assignProperties": false
},
"ModelCache": {
"ttl": 40,
"reloadAfterReturn": true,
"methods": [ "myRemoteMethod" ]
},
"SpamControl": {
"ttl": 50,
"type": "redis",
"configuration": {
"host": "xxx",
"password": "xxx",
"port": "xxx",
"dbNumber": "x"
}
},
"Timestamp": {
"history": false
}
}
}
In server/boot folder of the loopback app.
`javascript
var postMethod = require('loopback-ibmresearch-mixin/lib/postMethod');
var modelCache = require('loopback-ibmresearch-mixin/lib/modelCache');
var spamControl = require('loopback-ibmresearch-mixin/lib/spamControl');
var timestamp = require('loopback-ibmresearch-mixin/lib/timestamp');
module.exports = function(app) {
var options = {
ttl: 5,
methods: [ 'myRemoteMethod' ]
};
modelCache(app.models.MyModel, options);
postMethod(app.models.MyModel);
spamControl(app.models.MyModel);
timestamp(app.models.MyModel);
};
